Wouldn't count on those 'supported' cards not having issues either. I had a similar problem and reinstalled the program and brushes work fine now.Īdobe are studiously ignoring the problem with their new Open GL system blaming the video card manufacturers eventhough it is their fault for the way they wrote the system, CS3 didn't have any problems with the same cards. You paid for it right? They have a great support system and would definitely be able to solve this problem quickly. Yep, been to that site and tried what was appropriate there. I will trip on over to the above site to see if I indeed have been there.
feel like I have been around the world of downloads and issue blogs, I have downloaded another Nvidia driver but still with no results. Thanks Gil, I think I have been to this site. I have adjusted ever tweek that I can find. I did download an updated driver from Nvidia but alas NO SOLUTION.
Those PS forums are full of PS freaks that make a hobby out of knowing all that sorta stuff.
Well, try one of the official forums then if UCSB's idea doesn't do it. If you can't get proper execution why on Earth would you buy it? Silly Adobe! I can understand the lamer questions like "how do I use PS to draw" or something but bugged operation and specific intelligent inquiry should get a reply. Kinda shooting themselves in the foot with that one. UCSB has a good suggestion but that sucks that they won't support the trial version. also there is a list of video cards that CS4 supports on the Adobe site.
After downloading the latest drivers the brush starting working fine on my CS4 installation. Anyone got any ideas?ĭownload latest NVIDIA (if you have an Nvidia based graphics card) drivers at. The brush thing does not happen on CS3, so I have to think it is a memory display issue. kinda crappy IMHO !!! I did get CS4 to display the full circle brush but only after I pushed resolution to the max and now my fonts and desktop icons require a microscope to read. I open 4 new files images at 5000x3500 (to stress the card/PS limits), select any number of non-round single and multiple frame brushes, size them from 50 pixels to 1000 pixels and then draw around with them.Īdobe does not want to help me with the trial program CS4 even though I am a registered owner of CS3. As I keep working, I am still open to suggestions? I have gone into the card adjustments and so far everything I have done doesn't help a bit. There was another link that I had seen but do not have it, it had gone into it a bit more. When CS4 came out every now and then the brush tool would do it again, so I made a few further performance tweaks and CS4 has been fine since.
Here is one of the links:īoth my Vista Ultimate laptop and XP Pro desktop have nVidia cards. The main adjustments were to have the video card set for performance instead of quality and have it set for single display. After making adjustments on my video card the problem went away. I was having the same problem when LR 2.0 came out and read where others were having the problem.
I would appreciate help from any of the Photoshop gurus out there. What is going on? I have an abundance of RAM and video card memory. As long as the brush is small in diameter it is in the regular form of "circle" but when I enlarge the brush the only image showing on my picture is a small arc. BUT my brush is doing some strange things. You can also press the bracket keys to quickly increase or decrease the brush size at any time.I just downloaded a trial of CS4.
Simply locate and select the Brush tool from the Tools panel, then click and drag in the document window to paint. It's easy to use the Brush tool to paint in your document.
Once you know how to use the Brush tool, you'll notice that many other tools, including the Eraser and the Spot Healing Brush, use a similar group of settings. You'll also have different settings to choose from, which can help you customize it for different situations. The Brush tool allows you to paint on any layer, much like a real paintbrush. en/photoshopbasics/doing-more-with-layers/content/ Introduction
